My First year as a Junior Advisor
KPMG's Advisory practice offers outstanding career opportunities for ambitious graduates who want to advise our clients at the highest levels. You’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary team with diverse skills and backgrounds. Depending on your focus, you could be working on activities such as mergers & acquisitions, financing, corporate performance management, human resource management, IT Advisory, internal audit, business security and continuity, restructuring and outsourcing, intellectual property, fraud investigations and external reporting.
Your exact role will depend on which stream you join, but there are some common features between the different roles:
- Identifying and valuing tangible and intangible assets
- Research into possible mergers/acquisitions involving background analysis, desk research and data analysis - to assess value and identify business synergies
- Preparation and delivery of presentations, recommendations, reports and pitches to clients
- Interpreting financial data and explaining complex financial information in an understandable way
- Analyzing information and identifying evidence in fraud enquiries
- Identifying areas for business improvement by analyzing data and undertaking competitor analysis
There’s huge variety in advisory. One day you could be working with a global client on a big new deal, the next you could be advising on a government project or an entrepreneurial start-up. The range of clients, and the projects you could work on, offers continuous challenge and a constantly shifting workload. You’ll be in regular close contact with clients – requiring travel to lots of client sites on a national and sometimes international basis. There are often tight deadlines to work to, and pressure can build up to complete projects on time.
You can also look forward to a strong commitment to your development. You’ll need to be naturally ambitious and highly motivated, but we’ll help you to develop the technical and personal skills you need to act as a trusted advisor to our clients. We’ll help you achieve a professional qualification (e.g. Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Internal Auditor, etc.), but we’ll also help you to keep abreast of market developments and business news.
If you’re a confident, innovative thinker driven by the desire to be successful in everything you do, you could be exactly who we are looking for.
